From Darkness to Hope: A New Beginning for Mothers and Newborns
Imagine being in labor at midnight!
No electricity.
No hospital lights.
Only candles and phone touch lights guiding the hands of healthcare workers as they fight to save lives.
This was the heartbreaking reality at Okarida Primary Health Centre, Abakaliki LGA, Ebonyi State.
But today, that story has changed.
Because of the generosity of donors, partners, friends, and supporters of Abby Cares Foundation, light has been restored to the facility.
The delivery room now has light.
Health workers can provide safer care.
Mothers can give birth with dignity.
Newborns have a better chance at a healthy start in life.
What may seem like a simple light bulb can mean the difference between fear and hope, between danger and safety, between life and death.
This transformation was made possible by people who chose to care.
